S-Log is a log curve which has been specially optimised for digital motion picture cameras to maximise the performance of the image sensor. Cinematographers shooting in the current REC.709 standard have to choose whether to sacrifice detail in the highlights or the shadows. Created to fix the issues when color correcting SLOG2 and SLOG3. Our Clean Enhanced LUT maintains correct skin tones and hue levels to give a clean natural enhanced look. Sony SLOG color science can sometimes throw off the skin tones and it can be difficult to color correct, so we've fixed that with these LUTs specialized for SLOG2 and SLOG3. I just shot my first wedding with the a7s using slog2, and I wish I would have seen this article first. I think I relied too heavily on the idea of log footage to make everything look great. I knew it wasn't a perfect solution, and I did use ETTR, but I probably didn't need to shoot the whole thing in log.
